Add sugar and stir to mix well. Add butter. Turn on heat to medium heat. Bring to gentle bubble, stirring occasionally. Let bubble for 2 mins.
Add vanilla & stir to mix well. Cover and remove pot from heat. Let sit, covered, for 10 mins.
Stir and serve.
